The New Talent List works to serve both the job seekers and job makers. We search for the students whose skills tell us they could thrive in this community, and we show those same students the range of work this field actually holds, the roles no syllabus covers.
There are a variety of roles in creative video production, from screens producer, systems engineer, media server programmer, or content designer for a building-sized canvas. These jobs don't always show up in course catalogs or career fairs. In many cases the practitioners invented the titles themselves. The New Talent Program is an exchange: students bring talent we might never have found, and we bring the map, along with the introduction, the internship, or the first job when the fit is right. The New Talent List is that map, but it's more than a job board. When a student makes the list, a professional community puts its name behind them. Selection isn't about who has the longest resume; we read for thoughtfulness, curiosity, and the instinct to solve problems, because that's what this work actually runs on.
Honorees meet working professionals who remember exactly what it felt like to not know how to get in, and who pick up the phone when a question comes later. And because this work happens in very different production spaces, a rental shop, a content studio, an AV integrator, each with its own pace and culture, we help new professionals find the environment where they can genuinely thrive, not just the first desk that will take them. The community supports this program because every one of us got here through someone. A tour that took a chance, a programmer who shared a control file, a designer who answered a cold email. The New Talent List turns that informal generosity into a promise the field makes every year: there is a next generation, we know their names, and we're already working with them.

  2. Who Can Apply?
    • Any student who has completed a 3 or 4 year post-secondary program and is currently in a graduate program is able to apply.

    • Any former student who has completed a post-secondary program, undergraduate or graduate, in the 12 month period prior to the deadline is also eligible.

    • Any student who is completing High School during the deadline year and is not pursuing post-secondary education is welcome to submit their name and information. We will do our best to make introductions within the community, but don’t run a list for high school graduates.
